Not Sure Where to Begin?
Let’s see if we’re a good fit.
Choosing a therapist is personal. I offer a complimentary 15–30 minute consultation so we can connect, talk about what you’re looking for, and see whether my approach feels like the right fit for you.
No pressure, no commitment—just a chance to meet and get a sense of whether we might work well together.
Questions Answered
What can I expect from therapy with you?
Therapy with me is collaborative, relational, and tailored to you. We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, understand the patterns underneath it, and identify what you want to be different. Depending on your needs, we may work with thoughts, emotions, the body, relationships, and past experiences rather than relying on one approach alone.
What is Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)?
DBR is a somatic approach that works with the body and brain’s orienting responses, particularly in relation to experiences of shock, threat, and trauma. It can be useful when you feel that something is held deeply in your system even when you understand it intellectually. I incorporate DBR when it fits the person and the work we’re doing.
Do you offer EMDR consultation?
Yes. I provide EMDR consultation for therapists who are developing their EMDR practice, deepening their clinical skills, or working toward EMDRIA certification.
How do I know which type of therapy is right for me?
You don’t need to figure that out before reaching out. I offer a free 15–30 minute consultation where we can talk about what you’re experiencing, what you’re hoping to change, and what you’re looking for in a therapist. Together, we can explore whether we’re a good fit and which approach—or combination of approaches—might be most helpful for you.
Do you only work with trauma?
No. While trauma and complex trauma are areas of specialization, I also work with relationships and attachment, intimacy and sex, performance, confidence, and personal growth. You don’t have to have a trauma history—or a diagnosis—to benefit from therapy.
Do you offer couples therapy and EMDR together?
Yes. I offer specialized conjoint couples therapy that integrates couples therapy with EMDR. This allows us to work with both the relationship patterns between partners and the individual experiences or wounds that may be influencing the relationship.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I offer telehealth/online therapy to clients located in Virginia and the United Kingdom, subject to applicable licensing and practice requirements.
What if I’m not sure I “need therapy”?
You don’t have to be in crisis to come to therapy. Some people come because something is painful or getting in the way; others want to understand themselves more deeply, improve a relationship, build confidence, or become more fully who they want to be. Therapy can be about healing what hurts—and developing what helps you live well.
